Art brings children together in a unique way. Children benefit by reaching out to help others. Through the needle art of quilting children learn the American tradition of a quilting bee. Working together with laughter, friendship and creativity enables children to reach out to someone in need. Last summer Novato and So. Novato branches held quilting bees and created three quilts which will be donated to Oakland Children’s Hospital after being displayed in the childrens’ area of the library. The quilts are like a big hug for the young patients.
