Do you need to check Consumer Reports before you buy a product but don’t have time to go to the library? You can access Consumer Reports from home on your computer, smart phone or other device using your library card and pin number. Here’s how.
Go to the MCFL website: http://marinlibrary.org/
Click on Research & Learning in the blue bar toward the top of the page.
Select A-Z list of databases and scroll down to EBSCO Combined Search
Click on the EBSCO Combined Search link
and go to Advanced Search under the search box
In the box at the top type in the subject of your search, for example washing machines, and in the Search Options grid, second section, under Publication Name, type in Consumer Reports. Then hit the Search button.

If you’d rather just browse individual issues of Consumer Reports you can do that in the EBSCOhost database too. In the blue bar at the top of the home page you’ll see the word Publications. Click on this and choose MasterFILE Premier – Publications.
Type Consumer Reports into the Publications Search box and hit Browse. If you click on the title Consumer Reports in the results page you’ll see all of the years of the publication that have been indexed by EBSCO. Select any issue and start reading.
