In honor of the 200th anniversary of Fort Ross, the Sonoma County Museum will present The Tsar’s Cabinet featuring more than 200 years of decorative arts under the Romanovs:  Fort Ross, on the Sonoma coast, thrived from 1812 to 1841 It was the Southernmost settlement in the Russian colonization of North America and served as an agricultural base to supply Russian settlements in Alaska.  To find books in Marinet on Fort Ross and Russians in early California look under the following subject headings: Russians California and Fort Ross Calif History.  To find information on Russian art try the following subjects:  Art Russian, Russia Federation Art, Romanov House of Art, Decorative Arts Russia Federation, and Art Objects Russia.
