  • Features a welcoming central courtyard garden with free wi-fi access, perfect for reading, study or gathering.
  • Wide variety of storytimes and book clubs, as well as many exciting events for all ages.
  • Large, up-to-date collection of books, books on CD, large-type books, DVDs, magazines and newspapers, plus a smaller collection of music CDs.
  • Spanish language materials for children, teens and adults. Spanish-speaking staff available.

Computers & Wi-Fi

  • Computer reservations are recommended. Reservations can be made online or at the branch.
  • 11 public computers for adults & teens
  • 4 public computers for children
  • 1 ADA workstation
  • Free wi-fi access is available throughout the branch.
  • Wireless printing is now available at this branch. Download the software needed to print at Novato.

Meeting Room/ Study Space

  • Novato Library does not have public meeting rooms.
  • We try to keep our Community Room open to the public as much as possible, and therefore reserve this room only for library events.
  • We do have public study tables that can be used by tutors & students. Tutor policy

Donating Books & Materials

  • We accept small quantities of donations at the branch (due to limited storage space).
  • Larger donations can be taken to the bookstore run by the Friends – Book Place.
  • Books should be in good condition. We also accept DVDs, videos, CDs and magazines.
  • We do not accept textbooks. (The Friends do not accept textbooks or magazines).
  • Donated items are usually sold at the branch or at the Friends bookstore.

Friends Groups

From the Branch Manager: We welcome you to explore our library, where staff welcome you with a smile and know many of you by name. We are pleased to offer you a great selection of materials, in a variety of formats; from board books to DVDs, in addition to a wide range of programs for all ages. Whatever your interest, we’ll do our best to meet your needs. Just as we’ve done since 1927, we look forward to providing each and everyone in our community with great, personal library service.
