Special Resources

3D Printing

The Marin City Library now offers 3D printing for the public.  Providing community access to new and emerging technologies like 3D printing and scanning is in keeping with the library's goal to be a positive environment for mobile and digital literacy.

What do you need to know before making an appointment?

  • Please review the library's 3D Printing Policy prior to making an appointment.
  • Additional information is available on our FAQ sheet

Please book an appointment for the 3D printer on the library's calendar.

  • Each time slot is for 2 hours.  Your design and print job will have to fit into that time period.  To save time, we recommend that you design your print job prior to your appointment, at home or here on the library computers.
  • You may have a maximum of 1 booking every two months.
  • If you need to cancel your appointment, you must cancel at least 3 days prior to the appointment.
  • You must have a current library card with a MARINet library  to use the 3D printer.
  • Appointments are available for all ages.
  • Appointment length and print duration may be changed in the future to allow longer prints.
