We’re doing it again! We’re thankful for you, our patrons, and we’re showing it with another Fine Free Period in December and (most of) January. So go ahead and keep those books a bit longer if you’ve got some chapters left or haven’t tried the recipe for banana bread. Any late items* returned from November 22nd through January 21st will be free of fines.
WHAT: Return your overdue items to the library and get no late fees on those items*
WHEN: November 22nd – January 21st
WHERE: Marin County Free branches
HOW: Return your items to any of our branches or bookdrops and we will automatically waive any late fees on those items.
WHY: Fines can keep people away from the library, and we don’t want that. They can also keep materials away from the collection, and we’d love to get them back to share with others.
Sara Jones, Director of County Library Services:
“In some cases, people have avoided visiting the library for years because of money owed, and that’s heartbreaking for us to hear. We’d like to say thank you to the community and welcome back patrons who might have been away for a long time.”
