Marin Poets Live! is a public access television show presented by Marin County Free Library and features host Neshama Franklin, who works at the Fairfax Library. The show introduces local Marin poets and delves into their reasons for writing and the influence that living in Marin County has had on their poetry. The monthly show appears the second Thursday of each month at 7:30pm PST. Check the Community Media Center of Marin for schedules.

Karen Benke is the author of Sister (Conflux Press, 2004), RIP THE PAGE! Adventures in Creative Writing (Roost Books/Shambhala, 2010), LEAP WRITE IN! A coach who specializes in using creative writing to tap into the heart’s truest desires and intentions, Karen's been a California Poet in the Schools for 20+ years and brings her magic word ticket bag to book fairs and community events to write poems-on-the-spot for kids and kids-at-heart. She has seen her work published in numerous anthologies and literary magazines, including Rattle, Ploughshares, Poetry East, Hawaii Pacific Review, Common Ground Review, Pilgrimage, Poetry Daily, and elsewhere.  A recipient of grants from Poets & Writers and Marin Arts Council Fund For Artists as well as residencies from Hedgebrook and Djerassi Resident Artists Program, she lives north of the Golden Gate Bridge with her husband, 12 year-old son, and a magic cat named Clive.
