A coach who specializes in using creative writing to tap into the heart’s truest desires and intentions, Karen's been a California Poet in the Schools for 20+ years and brings her magic word ticket bag to book fairs and community events to write poems-on-the-spot for kids and kids-at-heart. She has seen her work published in numerous anthologies and literary magazines, including Rattle, Ploughshares, Poetry East, Hawaii Pacific Review, Common Ground Review, Pilgrimage, Poetry Daily, and elsewhere. A recipient of grants from Poets & Writers and Marin Arts Council Fund For Artists as well as residencies from Hedgebrook and Djerassi Resident Artists Program, she lives north of the Golden Gate Bridge with her husband, 12 year-old son, and a magic cat named Clive.
