Novato Library HVAC Temporary Closure

Update: The Novato Library has reopened as scheduled. Both Novato Library and South Novato Library are now back to regular open hours.

Information about Novato Library HVAC Repair Project

The Novato Library on Novato Blvd will be temporarily closed for a Heating and Ventilation System replacement beginning Friday, November 30th. We plan to reopen on Tuesday, January 22nd. This replacement is much needed: staff and patrons have felt the effects of outdated heating and ventilation for a long time and ongoing comments from the public forced a new HVAC to the top of our maintenance list.

We will be temporarily closed for much needed HVAC replacement. Staff and patrons have felt the effects of outdated heating and ventilation for a long time. Ongoing comments from the public forced HVAC to the top of our ongoing maintenance list.

What do I do with my books?
We will not be charging any late fees during the closure, so don’t worry about getting things back to us. Due dates for materials checked out from Novato will be extended until after closure.

In fact, please keep your books! There won’t be staff at Novato so we’re hoping you can keep books and other items at home until we reopen to make it easier on everyone.
There will be a temporary bookdrop at the main Novato Library if you need to return items during the closure and can’t make it to another library.

When is the closure?
The last day the main Novato Library will be open is Thursday, November 29th. The branch will then be closed Friday, November 30th through mid-January. We plan to reopen Novato Library on Tuesday, January 22nd, after the observance of MLK Jr. Day on January 21st.
