Pura Belpre Award Winners 2012

You may not be aware of the Pura Belpre Awards in literature but they're definitely worth seeing.  Pura Belpre was the first Latina librarian at the New York Public Library. The award is presented annually to a Latino/Latina writer and illustrator whose work best portrays, affirms, and celebrates the Latino cultural experience in an outstanding work of literature for children and youth.  Here are the 2012 winners for illustration:
