Celebrate the Dog Days of Summer with a great dog book!

Warm weather in July and August as the Dog Star Sirius shines above us. Sirius is the brightest star in the constellation Canis Major, the Large Dog. What better time to enjoy star gazing and dog stories while we wait out the hot sunny days. Here are some star books to enjoy:

And let's not forget the dogs! Some kids are horse book kids, some are princess book kids, but I was a dog book kid. Here are some of my favorites, old and new:

I found a NEW dog book at our library the other day. The illustrations are so cute. It's called Zorro Gets an Outfit by Carter Goodrich. Pug illustrations catch me every time!
