Mystery lovers know there are many mystery sub-genres, such as historical mysteries, “cozy” mysteries, police procedurals, culinary mysteries, various craft-related mysteries, dog and cat mysteries, and more. One amusing sub-genre is the usually humorous mystery novel that features a play-on-words title. Some of these titles might make you groan, but I think they are amusing—and intriguing. Here are some new mysteries in this sub-genre:
Behind the Seams , by Betty Hecthman.
The Blond Leading the Blond, by Jayne Ormerod.
Buried in a Book, by Lucy Arlington.
The Cat Sitter’s Pajamas , by Blaize Clement.
Deader Homes and Gardens, by Joan Hess.
Fashion Faux Paw, by Judi McCoy.
Hearse and Buggy , by Laura Bradford.
Naughty in Nice (Nice, France, that is), by Rhys Bowen.
Sleight of Paw , by Sofie Kelly.
