Here in Bolinas, the weather has changed from a very foggy cold summer to beautiful clear fall days after a short spell of rain. All the residents feel very grateful for these sunny days and the library has been very busy. After our popular summer reading programs, we have switched to our regular storytimes for preschoolers as well as our bi-lingual story times for preschoolers as well as grades 1-3. The storytimes have been well attended and lively.

Celebrating Local Latinos Encore Presentation

On Friday, October 28, Point Reyes Library celebrated it's fifth annual Celebrating Local Latinos event. This year's honorees were Beatriz and Jorge Marinez (pictured with MCFL Spanish Services Librarian Elizabeth Munoz-Rosas) and Augusto Conde (pictured with West Marin Branch Manager, Bonny White.) An encore presentation of this event will be offered at the Point Reyes Library on Tuesday, November 15 at 7:00 p.m. The "Celebrate Local Latinos" project was inspired by the Spanish Speaking Focus Group that met during the Master Facilities planning project in February, 2007. The goal is to role model our local Latinos who have gone through the local public school system and then pursued higher education.
