Alfred Hitchcock’s classic 1958 film Vertigo, a psychological thriller shot  in San Francisco,  has edged out  Orson Welles’s  1941 Citizen Kane as the best movie of all time in the British Film Institute’s  latest poll of movie critics.  The poll is conducted every 10 years.  Citizen Kane, based on the life of newspaper magnate William Randolph Hearst, was the previous top vote-getter.
